Massachusetts D.A.D.S.

D.A.D.S. will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 20 (not the 13th as previously advertised) at 7pm at the Beacon Grille in Woburn, MA. Our special guest for the evening will be Dr. Brian Skotko.
Dr. Skotko is a Board-certified medical geneticist and Co-Director of the Down Syndrome Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Skotko has dedicated his professional energies toward children with cognitive and development disabilities. In 2001 he co-authored the national award-winning book, Common Threads: Celebrating Life with Down Syndrome and, most recently, Fasten Your Seatbelt: A Crash Course on Down Syndrome for Brothers and Sisters.
He is a graduate of Duke University, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Kennedy School. Dr. Skotko recently authored major research on how physicians deliver a diagnosis of Down syndrome to new and expectant parents. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The L.A. Times, NPR's "On Point," and ABC's "Good Morning America." Dr. Skotko serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress and Band of Angels Foundation. This meeting is open to all (wives, parents, etc.), first come first serve. RSVP's are required. Please RSVP via email to Jeff. SEATS ARE GOING FAST!!! (only 60 seats available, over half gone). Dinner will be served and cost per person to attend this event is $25 (price does not reflect drinks, desert, gratuity, etc). Everyone seated will receive a Beacon mixed green salad with candied pecans, sun dried cranberries, red onion, and balsamic dressing. Entree choices are:

1. Lobster Mac n' Cheese, shell pasta, panko bread crumbs, fontina fondue, vegetable.
2. Lemon-Rosemary Brick Chicken, roasted root vegetable, crispy potato-herb salad, apple cider reduction.
3. Steak au Poivre, shoestring fries, sliced heirloom tomatoes, crumbled Great Hill blue cheese.

Super Bowl Fundraiser

Fundraiser to benefit the MDSC: D.A.D.S. member Mark Lamarca is holding a Super Bowl Square Raffle. The cost per square is $50.00. 10% ($500) goes to the MDSC and the rest ($4500) goes to the prize pool. The payouts are as follows:

• 3rd Quarter $1000, Reverse score $100
